Client Overview:
Based in Virginia but with participation by over 40 countries worldwide, BMEplanet is a biological and medical engineering consortium that fosters talent for the bioengineering workforce through internship and job postings; it also enables dissemination of ideas and information in an effort to bolster biomedical engineering efforts across different groups, projects and sectors.

Client Need:
An interactive, password-protected portal to serve as a knowledge base/repository and to stimulate relationship building and collaboration within the biomedical engineering community, with an emphasis on social networking techniques, including user groups, calendar functionality, posting and messaging capabilities.

Our Solution:
A scalable, Web 2.0 portal application consisting of a content management system and a variety of "modules" - online components and tools that help its users communicate with other members of the portal community, and are intuitive enough for anyone to use. 3210 also provided a clean, modern design for the portal, thereby making it even more usable for its members.

The 3210 team has continued to support BMEplanet since the portal's launch, adding innovative new features such as single sign-in capabilities (for those using Facebook and LinkedIn), full email functionality (with an @bmeplanet.org email address for users), a mobile-friendly user interface, and comprehensive reporting tools.
